My guest podcast interview on Master the Moment with Austin Jackson

I recently joined Austin James Jackson on his Master the Moment - Outdoor Photography Podcast to talk all things Lightroom. As someone who works on the Lightroom Desktop team at Adobe, I get a unique perspective on how features are built, tested, and delivered — and I loved being able to share some of that behind the scenes.

In the episode, we dive into:

  • Lightroom vs. Lightroom Classic: clearing up misconceptions and showing why Lightroom Desktop is every bit as powerful for editing.

  • Cloud workflows: why syncing originals across devices has completely changed how I work (and how I approach my back ups).

  • Culling strategies: my simple process for keeping libraries lean and avoiding catalog headaches.

  • Editing tricks: like using the Option/Alt key for hidden visualizations and intersecting masks for sharper selections.

  • AI tools: from Generative Remove to the Adaptive Color profile, and how they speed up real-world editing.

I also share my best advice for photographers: be selective about whose guidance you follow, and push yourself to shoot outside your comfort zone with different focal lengths.

If you’ve been curious about trying Lightroom Desktop — or just want to sharpen your editing workflow — I think you’ll find a lot of value in this conversation.

In addition to Apple Podcasts, you can also listen to episode on Spotify or directly on Austin's website (linked at the top of this post). Enjoy!
